Some of the things you can do while staying at Morvich

Enjoy an afternoon on one of our white sandy beaches. If you have enjoyed the movie Local Hero you will know just how good our beaches can be.

Take a trip on The Jacobite steam train from Fort William to Mallaig and back. Travel through superb scenery and cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Harry Potter fans will know all about this.

Walk up Ben Nevis or one of many other mountains. We have plenty of gentle walks too; after all not everyone wants to bag a Munro before breakfast.

Enjoy a tour around one of three local distilleries. We especially recommend Oban Distillery which is set among the shops right in the centre of Oban. A forth distillery is now under construction on Ardnamurchan with distilling due to begin before the end of 2013.

Board Souter's Lass at the Town Pier next to Crannog Restaurant for a cruise down Loch Linnhe and take in the breath-taking scenery of Lochaber. Evening service during the summer.

Take a ride on the UK’s only Mountain Gondola from Nevis Range up onto Aonach Mor for extended views across Lochaber’s wonderful mountain scenery.

Take a drive south through beautiful scenery to fabulous Glencoe and Rannoch Moor.

Visit Glenfinnan and its monument; where Bonnie Prince Charlie arrived and departed back in 1745. Glenfinnan Viaduct runs behind and provides excellent opportunities to capture photos of the Jacobite steam train crossing the viaduct.

Go and look for Nessie at nearby Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle.

Take a day trip to Kyle of Lochalsh and The Isle of Skye. Take in Eilean Donan Castle. Make a short detour to pretty Plockton where Hamish Macbeth was filmed.

Enjoy an evening meal at one of our top quality seafood restaurants.

Visit the West Highland Museum in the centre of Fort William.
